Thomas and Janice (Huber) Stangl Endowment Fund The Joseph S. Height Awards are given annually by the GRHS Joseph S. Height Awards Committee. They may include complimentary memberships in GRHS, certificates and plaques. There are four categories of awards: essay, genealogy, translation and other (poetry, old letters, speeches, folklore, etc.). The purpose of the awards is to “encourage good writing related to Germans from Russia.” Recently, Debbie and Steve Eberle established with Heritage Foundation for Germans from Russia (HFGR) a fund, which earnings are meant to supplement these awards with cash awards. This fund is called the Thomas and Janice (Huber) Stangl Endowment Fund for the Joseph S. Height Awards. The purpose of this fund is “to encourage well written articles related to the Germans from Russia.” Another reason Debbie and Steve choose to establish this fund is to honor Thomas and Janice (Huber) Stangl for the unselfish assistance they have given researchers over the years. HFGR is honored to have been selected by the Eberle’s to manage this fund, in perpetuity. The agreement, which establishes this fund, is a good fit to the stated purpose of HFGR, namely, to manage gifts, meant to financially assist GRHS, in the long term. Debbie and Steve encourage further gifts to this important fund. To do so, they suggest that you contact the foundation. |
